Inspiring Women Unite
Hi there!
What would you think if ”Plus-Size Models Unite” was revived as “Inspiring Women Unite” to include inspiring women of ALL shapes, sizes, ages, ethnicities, and professions?
Women included would be artists, writers, innovators, athletes, actors, politicians, comedians, heroes, musicians, moms, and women from all walks of life.
Now is your time to be heard! I’d love to hear your thoughts before I make a final decision.
Thank you,
Liz
P.S. There would be some visual changes to the site, such as changing the top banner picture and name, but the layout would remain the same.

I think it is great and glad to be apart of this. All sizes should be included in every area of beauty and fashion. Thank you.

Hi, I think the name change from plus models unite to Inspiring women unite is completely positive. Plus model has a connotation…not with myself, but with others that differentiates from the “norm”. Women of all sizes are the “norm” and we are all created unique and special and beautiful. The latest Victoria Secret runway model is a good example of unique beauty that doesn’t have to be a size 0. Criteria for inspiration, beauty, talent and intelligence is spanning outward and so should our terminology. Let’s celebrate all sizes, ages, colors and personalities. It’s 2012. It is the future…NOW!!

I think it is a wonderful idea!!! There are many “inspiring” women of all shapes and sizes out here looking for a place to “unite” and may other wise feel like they dont fit in if the title of a site “defines” who is supposed to be participating. I know it is currently called plus-size models unite, however, other individuals besides models do contribute/participate correct? So again, I think it is a wonderful idea – good luck!!

Please just leave this one alone for the plus sized women. Start a different one if you so desire. Don’t lose your focus.

This sounds like an excellent idea! I’m a complete freak at blogging about body acceptance and issues in society with pressure, and this sounds perfect.

Hi, just found you today and followed the link because of the current name.
My daughter is 6 and slender and into fashion. As an older, fuller figured mama I’ve been seeking links to put onto her computer that show a broad range of women looking happy in themselves. I was seeking a site that proportionately reflects the sizes of real women in the real world.
I’m not sure about the proposed tag “inspiring” for a new title – it strikes me as suggesting that only women in the media spotlight inspire. It introduces another sense of there being some women who are worthier than others – not a concept I find helpful. Haven’t got a better suggestion for you right now, sorry.
Just my thoughts! You did ask!
